It's still somewhat ambiguous to me how the hell I ended up being this psyched for a mahou shoujo show, when I hated the goddamn genre even when I was a pink-loving, pigtail-wearing idiot. Must be all the Amu x Ikuto smexxvibes going on. Well, I reckon that's what keeps 90% of the fans going, which is a good sign, because FINALLY (and I repeat, finally) a shoujo show hit its couples right. Hallelujah.

Peach-Pit knows its stuff. Even if they can pull a TMM and have Amu end up with everyone's favourite frills-wearing, pink-eyed, sweet-spoken, baby-faced ~~gay crossdresser~~ Tadase, we keep getting showered in the ultra delicious Amuto (WTH, I hate that name >.<) smexx. So here's 5 good points about this manga, because we're worth it. <333

1. Ikuto

Ikuto is greatness in every way possible, there's no way you can deny it, even his own sister has the hots for him (okay, scratch that, that part is just downright freaky). Besides being your regular Dark Bishounen, he also plays teh violin, is a fairly open pervert (well, at least to Amu, thank goodness) and is a nekomimi, which inexplicably works well in his case (even if nekomimi creeps the hell outa me otherwise). There's many reasons to love this guy, he has sweet powerzz (or they at least seem that way), seems to have an interesting back story and has so far remained supah cool towards Utau's incestous attempts, but let's face it; he's just goddamn HOT. If that's a lame reason to fangirl, then screw me, because every time me and Amu see Ikuto, all we can think is 'Mmm, delicious. <3333'

2. Kewl clothes

Don't glare, this is what initially made me gape at this show (even moreso at the manga, which has great art AND less emo in it; I recommend. :3). Amu, the pink-haired dear, besides being an actually bearable main character (when she's not around Tadase that is >.<) wears clothes so damn cool they'll make you want to run over to the nearest Goth-Punk Wannabe store and shop your heart out. I'll know, I'm roaming the town trying to find those plaid legwarmers with belts she has, they're like the shizz and all that.
I'm not joking, btw. Amu's a loli, yess, but a loli with an admirable sense of style, regardless of her inner wish to 'wear something pink and frilly' (that one had me gaping, though, how dumb can this get? But then again, this IS shoujo, some expectations have to be met.)

3. Ikuto And Amu

I've said it before and I'll say it again; these two are the couple of the freakin' year. I mean seriously, LOCK and KEY?! Ear biting, occasional 'accidental' body contact of the sort that'll make you giggle like a 11 year old? Eating icecream together (yes, the same vanilla icecream) while she sits in his LAP? Yep, that about did it for me. You see for yourself ^.^
Some say he seems too old for her (Peach Pit thinks so too, in a way) but I couldn't care less. Gah, if this couple doesn't turn out right, then Peach Pit will burn in flames. But you didn't hear that from me.

4. Neat artzz.

Typical shoujo, but sweet nonetheless. It's just... pleasant to look at. X__X NO IM NOT TALKIN BOUT LOLIS KTHXBYE.

5. Good Pace

Some people will disagree with me, but I consider the pacing of this manga to be just perfect for this level of 'depth' (read: shallowness). It doesn't seem like it'll last long, and it's just perfect that way. I'm tired of infinite mangas, I need to read something with an ENDING. >.<

And so, even if it's been awhile since I sat down and thought about the manga's message (btw, if you're looking for anything deeper than 'Be What You Are', don't waste your time) - I never thought it was necessary for a shoujo, period. They are angsty. They are flowery and sparkly and pink, and while they might hurt your eyes, the good ones make you smile while at it. There is eternal optimism, there are the set gender roles and stereotypes so baffling you can do nothing but gape - but beneath all that, they are fucking FUN. And Shugo Chara! is without question one of those.

On another note, I'm not allowed to wear my contact lenses for two weeks because of allergy, so it's back to my foot-thick nerd artifacts, also known as glasses. I cannot express my excitement and happiness, I'm so merry I feel a little bit like dying. Well, such is life, I suppose. >:D

I really look forward November. I know school will be a bitch as per usual already, but... for once, life seems like it's going to be good. ^__^ I just need to get off Internet and get my fat ass to work. That's all there is to it, at the moment.

Now this entry is CRACK, crack, crack, but in the light of recent Kurosaki - Inoue confrontation (read; Orihime Having No Spine and Ichigo Playing Fairy Godmother) while IchiOri shippers are screaming in delight for just how 'romantic' and 'zomg PROOF' Bleach has been recently (xD), I saw - one thing.

Ichigo is like the rest of us, after all. How do I now that?

Well, he's getting tired of Orihime's feeble 'K..-kurosaki-kun!!?!~ ', just like the rest of the universe.

"Kuro..."
"Inoue. Please heal me."

"Ku... kuro..."
"Are you hurt at all? Inoue?"
(of course, she had to finish the thought on her own later; that means her Master and Ruler Of Her Heart, Kuro- Ichigo has made his point. Seriously, can you imagine those two married? I'll do it for you.

(Yes, I'm frustrated because Kubo is STUBBORNLY CONTINUING to ruin Orihime's character. What's your deal with Orihime, Tite-sama? GIVE HER HER SPINE BACK! She just got wtfpwned by a Fraccion - AGAIN!)

(Ishida! Chapter 287! Love! *fangirls* Now a thought; if Kubo continues making Hime this way, I'll quit IshiHime. I started shipping it back when Orihime was a considerate, sweet and likeable girl who only wanted to protect those that she cared about. While THIS Orihime, despite having witnessed Rukia's gruesome apparent death and knowing that Chad has been badly hurt, only cares about whether Ichigo is fighting for her or to be the first man on Mars. She doesn't deserve the selfless greatness that is Uryuu Ishida, no she doesn't.
Neither does this Ichigo deserve the selfless greatness that is Rukia Kuchiki now that I think of it. Too bad Ishida and Rukia don't like each other... or I'd ship IshiRuki.)

(Let's petition for getting Rukia back. This is getting ridiculous; Ichigo is being a reckless idiot, Orihime is acting as if someone extracted her brain (maybe she has a double personality?) and IchiGrimm is being pushed down our throats. Someone should start a new manga with Rukia, Ulquiorra, Ishida and Tatsuki , and I guess Renji and Chad, as main characters. I can already imagine it.)

For starters, I'll tell you something nice;

Ichigo. Kurosaki. Is. Dead.

And it's not like I'm making this up, either. Kubo Tite, however, did. Unfortunately for those who would prefer to disregard this fact, that guy actually WRITES and DRAWS 'Bleach', so I'd say it's in his jurisdiction to make such decisions. Get. Over. It.
Yes, yes, I know, how silly of me. Anyone with half a brain and their brother knows this, so why bother make a LJ entry on it, when you update your journal once in a blue moon (read; never)? Well, obviously because many people lack that crucial half. You see, one of the oldest anti-IchiRuki arguments goes:

Rukia and Ichigo can't be together! She's dead, he's alive!

Thus, like they often do, they pull an Orihime on us (see the footnote), and happily ignore chapter 60 ever happening.

Second:

Okay... now that that's solved, I shall humbly quote chapter 03 for you:

Rukia (to Ichigo) : "That Inoue girl. Are you close?"
Ichigo: "No, not really... well, I guess so; she's best friends with someone who has lived in my neighbourhood since 8th grade."

So stop saying Ichigo and Orihime have an impressive history behind them, because they DON'T. Digging out chapter 03 again, it's revealed that they first met three years before (an occurrence which Ichigo only remembers because he was the one to open the door to a girl holding her almost-dead brother, covered in blood). They haven't seen each other at all after that before they coincidentally enrolled into the same freshman class in Karakura High. You may think what you want about IchiOri, I'm not going to go into that, but for the love of canon, get your facts straight first.

And finally (totally unrelated to boring shipping matters):

Darkshaunz's entry is awesome as ever, of course, but that's not why I'm putting it up here. I'm linking this to avoid going through the trouble of ranting about the incredible amount of FAIL that are Bleach Fillers myself. I'm lazy, and just watching this shit scratched my brain as if doodling on it with a permanent marker. I'm going to have memories of this episode, bad memories.

You can tell I'm an Ulquiorra fan. Emospada-sama is IMHO the single most knee-swayingly awesome character at the moment in the boringness that is Bleach. So WHY, WHY must they ruin him? WHY, damnit?

First they give Ishida a pink bow (!) then they do this to Ulquiorra. I would so totally sue them... if I, err, was in any position to do so. >__>

But I suppose it is my fault. The alarm should have gone off in my head right after that horrible, annoying, idiotic filler kid was introduced.
